Nicosia, Northern Cyprus

There was a civil wars in Cyprus in the 1970s which split Cyprus into the Northern Cyprus, which is called the Turkey side, and Southern Cyprus, called the Greek side. While we used the Southern Cyprus as our base, we crossed over to Northern Cyprus twice.

On our first visit to North Cyprus, Tiffany and Carina released baby sea turtles at night through the conservation group SPOT.

The next day, we crossed the war-torn Nicosia to see the dividing line and to eat some more Turkish food.
We missed the charcoal-grilled kabobs, the mezes, and the Turkish beer Efes (we drank a lot of Efes while we were in Turkey)
