Larnaca, Sea Caves

We have arrived safely in Larnaca, Cyprus. Just a 45-min flight from Beirut, Lebanon. We checked into our hotel which is next to the 9th-century Church of St Lazarus, the one whom Jesus raised from the dead in Bethany after having been dead for four days.

According to tradition, sometime after the Resurrection of Jesus, Lazarus was forced to flee Judea because of rumoured plots on his life and came to Cyprus.
There he was appointed by Paul the Apostle and Barnabas as the first Bishop of Kition (now Larnaca). He is said to have lived for thirty more years and on his death was buried here for the second and last time. The Church of St Lazaros was built over the reputed (second) tomb of Lazarus.
Inside the silver reliquary is the relics of St Lazarus, the one whom Jesus loved.

We drove for about 45 minutes to the south-eastern tip of the Island to see the Sea Caves.
People dived in from the cliff. Gideon, Carina, and I hiked down and walked along the eroded rock formation. We swam in the cove and saw lots of beautiful fish living near the rocks. There are also a lot of small caves to explore.
